Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to UrlEdge. By accessing or using our website, API, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

UrlEdge provides high-performance URL redirection. To protect our reputation and infrastructure, you strictly agree NOT to use our service for:

  • Phishing & Social Engineering: Redirecting to deceptive sites designed to steal credentials.
  • Malware Distribution: Hosting or linking to software viruses, worms, or malicious code.
  • Spam & Scams: Use in unsolicited bulk email (spam) or SMS campaigns.
  • Illegal Content: Hosting child exploitation material, illegal gambling, or content that violates intellectual property rights.

Zero Tolerance: We employ automated scanning systems (e.g., Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank). Any account found violating this AUP will be immediately suspended without refund.

3. Fair Use Policy

Free Tier: The free tier is intended for development, personal projects, and low-volume production. Use effectively "unlimited" usage is subject to fair use. If your usage exceeds reasonable limits (e.g., consistently exceeding 100 requests/second) or impacts the stability of our global network, we reserve the right to rate-limit access or require an upgrade to a paid plan.

High Volume: For expected traffic bursts (e.g., Super Bowl ads, viral campaigns), please contact support ahead of time to ensure capacity provisioning.

4. Service Availability & SLA

We strive for 99.9% uptime for our Edge Network. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access in cases of Force Majeure or planned maintenance. Enterprise customers are covered by the 99.99% SLA defined in their specific contracts, with financial credits for downtime.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of UrlEdge and its licensors.

6. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. For paid accounts, we will provide a pro-rated refund only if termination is not due to AUP violations.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall UrlEdge, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from yours access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

8. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
